Although we know that the models of Victoria’s Secret (the famous Angels) that we see walking down the catwalk actually have on their side all the facility of genetics, but that does not mean that they do not train hard to shape their physical form.

Celebrity trainer Michael Blauner has worked with several Victoria’s Secret Angels in his career, so he knows what it takes to present them in the best shape possible for the runways.

Michael now finally responds by asking everyone who is already wondering: what kind of aerobic exercise do you pass on to these women and what kind do you recommend for weight loss? The answer is probably not what you think.

We’ve heard a lot about the power of high intensity interval training (HIIT), and sometimes we see the Angels doing tough boxing sessions, but Michael says there’s another kind of aerobic he suggests for them to achieve their goals.

Low-Intesity Steady-State (LISS) Aerobic Workout

“Theoretically, low-intensity and long-term exercise is considered the best type of aerobic workout for weight loss,” he said. “You achieve better results when your body uses oxygen as a source of energy.” This is also known as Low-Intesity Steady-State (LISS), and is a type of cardio that lasts a little longer than your typical interval session – about 30 to 60 minutes.

Michael said that this type of “longer and lower intensity workout” produces the best fat-burning ability in your body. So, instead of joining a fast circuit, think of an extended running session.

“I like to mix it up with short, high intensity bursts that develop your aerobic system to a higher level,” Michael said. “In this way, you get the best of both worlds.” This also prevents the models from feeling bored during these longer training sessions.

Therefore, it may be a good idea to mix a few LISS sessions into your workout routine, especially if you are the type of person who practices HIIT regularly.
